BYD share will hit HKD180.00 in 2011 May?

BYD has also proudly announced its plan for the DM (Dual Mode) electric models. Based on its strength in ferrous battery and clean eco-friendly power-train technologies, BYD has attracted the investment from U.S. energy giant Buffett in exploring the electric vehicle market.

BYD applied its DM system to the production of all its vehicles. The BYD F3DM was launched in December 2008 while the BYD F0DM and BYD F6DM has been gone on sale in 2009.

BYD sold 170,000 units and has planned to double the yearly sales to 400,000 vehicles in 2009.

This ambitious target is expected to help BYD overtake Geely Auto and become the second largest independent Chinese automaker by annual sales after Chery Auto.

BYD designed its own batteries that power the DM electric vehicles instead of contracting the power system out like most automakers. Toyota to Panasonic.

The proprietary batteries use lithium-ion iron phosphate. BYD states these batteries will last 600,000 km or 10 years before they will need to be replaced.

The stock price of BYD was HKD12.00 in Dec and now it reached HKD20.00 and will hit HKD180.00 by end Dec 2010.

K n S revenue Down 65%

Second-quarter net revenues tumbled about 65 percent and the net loss increased by more than 400 percent at Kulicke & Soffa Industries Inc., the Fort Washington-based manufacturer of equipment used to produce semiconductors.

"The second quarter was one of the most difficult ever for both K&S and our industry," said Scott Kulicke, chairman and chief executive officer. "Weakness in the global economy continued to depress demand throughout the semiconductor industry."

The company, which had already announced 240 layoffs (in a workforce of about 2,500) in November, said it had reduced its staff by 250 more during the quarter, which ended March 28.
The company said it will have $4 million in severance costs, and expects about $21.7 million in annualized savings.

Net revenues were $25.2 million, over $70.9 million in the comparable quarter a year ago. Net loss was $33.1 million (54 cents a share), over a loss a $6.1 million (11 cents a share) a year ago period.

The company had previously announced wage cuts, including for Kulicke himself (20 percent), with lesser cuts for other top executives and reduced hours for workers including factory employees.

"During the quarter, we took the actions required to reduce our cost structure," Scott Kulicke said in a release today.

The company also said that, since November, it had retired $13 million in notes due in 2010, for a net gain of $2.8 million.

Kulicke & Soffa also said it would move some manufacturing operations from Israel to China, at a cost of about $5.7 million over the next three years; the annual savings from that move are projected at $4.6 million a year.

The company projects third-quarter net revenues of $32 million to $37 million.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Bangkok

One of Mandarin Oriental's flagship properties: Mandarin Oriental Hotel, has been a favorite of the elite since 1876. In 2006, the grand dame of the Chao Phraya River underwent a face-lift. The new spa is known as one of the best in the world and the facilities have been updated to include: a large gym, tennis, squash, and two outdoor swimming pools.

All of the 393 fresh rooms are assigned with personal butlers. Visitors should not miss high-tea in the Author’s Wing, a meal at one of the eight famous restaurants, taking a class in Thai cooking/culture, or watching the sunset from the Veranda. Wireless internet, business center, meeting rooms, secretarial and concierge services, make for an efficient as well as luxurious experience. A proprietary boat shuttles patrons 5-mins to the sky train as well as sights along the river. A stay at the opulent Mandarin Oriental never disappoints, and has you wanting to come back.

History

When Siam opened up to foreign trade after the signing of the Bowring Treaty the sailors that populated the ships which conveyed this trade though Bangkok required accommodation on shore. To meet this demand Captain Dyers, an American and his partner J.E. Barnes opened a hotel called the Oriental Hotel. This burnt down in 1865.
Several years later a partnership of Danish captains opened a replacement hotel. In the 1970’s the board of the Oriental Hotel decided with the opening of the new River Wing, upon 1876 as the official establishment date of the Oriental Hotel.

The number of staff is two times number of the guests. Rumour said that the front desk officers can call your name in the second time you make a visit to this Hotel!

The hotel is a favorite of celebrity visitors to Bangkok. Joseph Conrad, Somerset Maugham, Noel Coward Graham Greene, John le Carré, Barbara Cartland, and James A. Michener are amongst the famous authors who have stayed at the Oriental.
Other famous guests have included Neil Armstrong, Lauren Bacall, George H. W. Bush, Jacques Chirac, Sean Connery, Mel Gibson, Václav Havel, Audrey Hepburn, Mick Jagger, Henry Kissinger, Helmut Kohl, David Beckham, Niki Lauda, Sophia Loren, Yehudi Menuhin, Richard Nixon, Pelé, Queen Sofia of Spain, Princess Diana and Prince Charles, Omar Sharif and Elizabeth Taylor. And Of course Fever Ip, his beloved Poo, and his Pretty daughter Pat. I like the river side, one trivial defect is that their choice of wine is not a complete as Shangari-la's French Restaurant "Lafifte " in K.L.Scott Boone, noted jet setter and photographer is rumored to have stayed there.

Laurei Redstaurant at Lo Woo Commercial Centre

Laurei is likely the best Cantonese Dim Sum Restaurant at Lo Wo Commercial Centre Shenzhen.
Dim Sum is more fascinative than those in Hong Kong as they may have 40 Dim Sum masters where as in we have only 4-6 in Restaurants Hong Kong of Similar scale.
The Roasted goose was no good at all, the meat is dried and tough, those Roasted Goose in Hong Kong is much better, like those House Jasime, Yung Key and Nang Key in Sham Tseng.
The choice and taste of Tea is much better than those mid-level restaurant in Hong Kong.
Price of the food is the price of a mid-higher grade Dim Sum Restaurant in Hong Kong.
After the lunch take a free shutle at the Lo Wo Bus station to nearby spa for a couple of professional Massage...it would remove all sorts of nuiance, over stretched muscle after days tiresome dog's life in Hong Kong.

450mm Wafer Fab ready to go?

In 2002, 38.2% of equipment purchased by the semiconductor manufacturers was for 300mm production, and 1.4% of silicon wafers processed were 300mm in diameter.
In 2008, 92.1% of equipment purchased was for 300mm production and 37.4% of silicon wafers were 300mm.

From 2002-8, semiconductor revenues increased from about $10bn per month at the start of 2002 to $20+bn in December 2008.

In contrast, semiconductor equipment bookings started off 2002 at $645 million, reached a peak of $1.8 billion in June 2006, and ended 2008 at about $800 million.

No wonder semiconductor manufacturers and Sematech are pushing for 450mm wafers.

AFI Ten top Ten movie

This are the ten top ten Amercian Movie.

A cowby named Bud!

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in California when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust.

The driver, a young man in a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes, RayBan sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, Will you give me a calf?"

Bud looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, Why not?"

The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his Cingular RAZR V3 cell phone, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.

The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored.

He then accesses an MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response. Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves."

"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," says Bud. He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car. Then the Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?"

The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?"

"You're a Congressman for the U.S. Government," says Bud.

"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"

"No guessing required." answered the cowboy.
"You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know a thing about how working people make a living - or about cows, for that matter.

This is a herd of sheep.

Now give me back my dog!

Virtue of goodness

No one will escape the death, what the best to thing about what was we have done?Well in one day we will face with this issue, no matter you is the CEO of a company, or President the country.

You are neither a better nor worse person for the sorts of car you drive, the size of your house, the rank in the company nor the performance of your mutual funds
Remember what really matters in your life?

Imagine that today is your last day on Earth. Now make a list of things that you have accomplished, all the things that you are proud of, all the things that make you happy

Is that your have bought the Daytona Paul Newman 1957 watch at Christie, find a near mint Royal Ballet LP from eBay? You can have luck and cash to buy your best beloved number “HK1” for your car? Porsche has a plan to deliver your new grey silver Porsche Cayenne? Or a chance that the super model in Hong Kong in inviting you for a dinner at Restaurant?

I do not think so, may be you feel regret that you have not forgotten to forgive one of your friends who has been betrayed by you.

You did not return the money that you borrowed from your good friend who may be selling one of his properties for supporting you.

When a successful aerospace engineer (Will Smith) accidentally kills seven other including his beloved wife, in an accident, he did not find a better ways to set things right than to enhance the lives of those deserving stranger.

He sets our to find the recipients good enough for this seven Pound of his fresh!
But he falls in love, he is faced with dilemma in such a selections.
It is a touching movie as we see on either that there are such kind of decent people who can offer such gravitas, may not be great Oscar nomination, but soon you will discover that some one in life happy endings comes with a dreadful cost..

My question is there really such kind of people on Earth, my answer is yes. There may have alternate way to help people, Bill gate donates most of his fortune to help the other.
There is a great contracditcion for the Chinese or Hong Kong Chinese who can have such virtue to help others. But all in different way to make his target achieved, helping people is one of the deeds that offer us a way cherish our heart.

There is a lot of rich people, amongst the Run Shaw is the one I respect most in Hong Kong, any that is one of the reasons may be he deserve such a long life, He was borne din 1907. Over the years, he has donated billions of dollars to charity, schools and hospitals. His name is on many buildings in Hong Kong and China mainland due to his generous donations.

The fourth constituent college of the collegiate Chinese University of Hong Kong is also named after Sir Run Run, whose patronage made the establishment of the college possible.
He donated $100 million Hong Kong Dollars for disaster relief after the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake. He has not the top richest ten nor even hundred people in Hong Kong, but the share of his donation is probably the No.1 in Hong Kong. Will that be a positive tuition to those who are so much reluctant to donate…?

In the Suchuan donation Faye Wong donated HKD6,000,000.00 where’re more richer people like two of the top 4 King singers had a donation on HKD100,000.00. Well we can not measure one good virtue! If everyone does their best that will be changing the world.

The Hong Kong economy is struggling at it down turn, and imagine the top 100 richest people could donate 30% of each of their properties, the Hong Kong will be changed. As 30% of their properties will not change or degrade on their standard of living, as the former secretary of treasurer said, you do not feel you own the money until you spend it…

What is the difference of spending 1B USD and 10B USD… in Arithmetic’s illustration, that is 10 times in value. But for spending, I do not see anything much different!

Restoran kapitan Penang

This was highly recommended by friends in Penang more than two times for their Indian Curry dishes and Tandori Chicken. We had a visit there last Thursday. The food was delicious but I think "Bombay" in Tsim Sha Tsui could be even better but the prics is aorund 7 times more expensive! Guess that A group of 4 had each a Tandori Chicken sst dinner and 4 drinks, it was only RM38.8, that is about HKD86.00!

That is why the restaurant is so busy and was been packed with people Chinesee, Malay and Indian...
