Good quality Never Go Out of Fashion

This is a pair of Florsheim Imperial shoe I bought in Bo Sing shoes at Ocean terminal in 1976.

with HKD600.00... I have been using it for more than 32 years.

This is a standard item in the US president’s wardrobe.

I can see that the quality of imperial is not as good as before...

I just want to say is that Quality never die and one major concern for shoe is Comfort, long lasting and elegant. Or would some of them gradually becoming a collectible item?

Hi Fi maniac and Music Lover

There are debate between Transistor and vacuum tube.

There are debate between CD and Vinyl

Between Thiel and Harbeth,

Between Rockport and Tannoy!

Betweeen 1944 WE300B and 1955 2A3,

Between Mark Levinson LNP2 and No.32.

Nevertheless, these things are made for purpose of music reproduction.

A Malyaisan Hi Fi dealer Sunny told me: well if you can not hear the difference between the Vinyl and CD under the same artist, and title! Congradulations! you do not have to bother, go ahead to enjoy you CD... forget the turntable!

The ultimate happiness and satisfaction is from enjoying the music through the media no matter transistor, vacuum tube, $47,000.00 for a power cable, or a 40 dollars China made 12AX7 Vacuum tube.. so long if you find the happiness... that is OK!

Human is insatisable and Audiophile people used to go further for pursue high quality music and sound reproduction through the upgrade of Hi Fi system. Do not go into thie commercial trap!

as I can say that in 1970, the world has created the best of music recording system, and the world best reproduction sytem... 1970 till now, we are just trying to fool ourselves around in packaging the music recording formats 8 track, CD, DAT, DCC, DAT, Mini disk, MP3....changing the amplifier, loudspeaker in such a way for marketing it for different kind buying levels and need

The end result is same: worst that those music could be rerpodcued in 1970~

if one had experience Hi Fi for more than 40 years they understand this game.

I see a lot of people changed his loudspeadker every year, well, he can not find the best the loudspeaker can reproduce the music as normally a new loudspeaker requires 500 hours for run in.

If you listen 6 hours a week, the loudpseaker is till harsh when it is sold to the second hand shop!

The next buyer will be the beneficiary of your loudspeaker!

A see some people who has 100 dollars value of Hi Fi equipment. but 1 dollar of LP or CD!!

Well, I saw one music lover Kelvin, his equipment is 100 dollars but his CD collection worth more than 200 dollars! He has a good ear for Hi Fi audition!

Snake Peak

Today, we had walked up the Snake Peak in New territories.

I should say that there is a short section which was very dangerous!

We met a lot of people going up the hill.

It was only 7-9 Deg C in the morning, but once I warmed up, it was hot!

Many peoples say that if you have not yet been to that hill, you ain't Hong Kong Hiker!

I took Helicopter to work everyday!

Once I had to travel by helicopter to work every day.

I worked at Penzoil in 1983, they had a oil exploration rig in Western Oil field in Hai Nan Island.

We stayed in hotel of Tsam Jiang.

I had to fly by helicopter to the oil rig everyday!

I was a Radio Officer....

The pay was HKD10,000.00 a month!

I still remember the Job interview took me 25 minutes in New World's Penzoil office!

He was GM of Penzoil, very nice gentleman who asked me my experience and my expectation, then confirmed me with the job immediately!

At that time a house of 700 sq. foot was only HKD140,000.00!

If I work a year I could buy a house, but I did not...Did I miss the boat?

Hiking Competition on 1 Jan 2009

I had a hiking on 1st Jan 2009 for 18KM .

My position was 16th with 2 hour 23 minutes

I met a Hi Fi shop keeper, when I asked about how easy the FA (Focus Audio) floor stand two way three unit loudspeaker, he said that “ If you do not know how easy to drive a FA audio loudspeaker, it means that you are idiot in playing HI Fi, you have better break all you Hi Fi unit at home and stop playing it anymore….!” He spoke seriously and not a joking tone!

He is a man of about 35 year old… so my conclusion is:


He wanted to bluff people and his customers to show he is a supreme Hi Fi expert.

But My comment is: he is not a good salesman, I am sure I have played, listened more than he did in his life.

I have used 4 Turn table, 10 cartridges, 15 amplifier, 20 pair of loudspeaker, listed to over 5,000 Vinyls and be seated for many live classical concerts …I have started to build my audio equipment in 1969. 40 years ago! I know some electronics and all circuitry, I am not too serious audiophile, but I spent about 10 hours a weeks for music.

I believe I know what good music is…and all this is not important!

He broke one rule: do not wack your customer with in-appropriate words

Curry Crab

This is one of my favourite dish : Curry Crab

Wash Clean the Crab, remove all the lung, hammer to crack the shell.

Prepare a hot wok, put ginger, garlic, union, with Olive oil, ( no more peanut oil though the favour is better)

Stir fry for a couple of minutes, then put the crab into the wok and mix them well!

Put Salt, brown sugar, two spoonful of Chinse Rice wine, some chicken essence and some chinese onion cut in sections, cover and put to mild fire and bake for a bout 5-8 more minutes...

Prepare big bowl of rice and enjoy...

I really want to have this to serve my all beloved ones!

This is the most beautiful aircraft I have ever seen!

Appreciate that the French/UK can create such a pretty bird in the air... !

Note the speed of Concorde is 2,330KM/hr! From UK to NY was just 3.4 hours!

How does the bank earn money?

Smart people uses OPM ( other people's money) to earn money!

To get loan from Bank may be one of the ways of OPM, as it is very difficult to save a good chunk of money to start your business.

We have to rely on some funding vehicle or extenal financial supporters like Banks. Unless you have a very good idea of commercialization on your product, or an invention that may be big potential in marketing it without the need for funding! Which is rare!

We have to get the loan from the bank, after the LB Castastrophe. The bank will try to earn more by increasing their management fee on all kind of bank transactions!

Hung Kung bang has already inceased the mangement fee starting today!

So this is a response to what I have metioned about the Bank poster 2 days ago!
