Senz Umbrella claims that it can stand a wind speed of 110KM!!

As we are 007, so we are up to a secret video and audio recording, you have a full set of possibilities. Every modern cell phone has a voice recorder inside, many of them have cameras. However, it would be clearly obvious that you are recording if you are holding phone in your hands.

Ajoka Obaba buckle Camera is designed for James Bond and some one like you for some secret recording.This buckle has a secret hidden inside of it - tiny video and audio recorder. Wireless cameras are a no-go in places where they can be detected by wireless camera detectors, so when you are forced to use another way of recording - put it on your belt and it will film everything you want, with practically less risk of getting caught. Miniature camera records video in 3GP video format (176x144, QCIF) with sound, which can be saved on the microSD card from 128 MB up to 2 GB. Recordings can be played on PC or on your mobile phone.

It can live 3 hours on one battery charge, but if you want to record a 3 hour length video you'll need some spare cards - 1 GB microSD card can only take up to 33 minutes of video.

It is available in two models: classic one, called Buckle DVR, and strangely shaped one called Obaba DVR. The only problem seems the lighting, if it work in dark would be OK, but do not dream that you can take any obsence picture with your partner unless she is stupid to allow you using belt in bed!!

NEC Corp enabled an organic radical battery to be repeatedly charged/discharged 10,000 times or more with one second or shorter pulse discharge while enhancing its power density.

By utilizing a printing technology and a technique to evenly disperse electrode ink, the company increased the uniformities of the organic radical material and the carbon fiber, thereby reducing the internal resistance of the positive electrode of the organic radical battery. As a result, the power density of the battery was increased to 5,000W/L, which is three times as high as that of the company's existing organic radical battery.

Specifically, when using a coin-sized organic radical battery with a thickness of 1mm or less, it is possible to discharge with a high current of 1A, achieve a high power output of 2W and repeatedly charge/discharge 10,000 times or more with a current of 100mA.

An organic radical battery is a secondary battery that stores electricity utilizing the oxidation-reduction reaction of stable radical. The battery was first announced by NEC in 2001. It utilizes the oxidation-reduction reaction of a substance called "radical," which has unpaired electrons in the outermost shell of the electron orbit.

The battery allows high-speed charging/discharging because the reaction proceeds at a high speed. Also, a gel-type flexible electrode can be created by infiltrating an electrolytic solution into a composite positive electrode consisting of an organic radical compound and a carbon fiber.

Targeting the power sources for next-generation terminals such as highly-functional IC cards, electronic paper and wearable devices, NEC intends to improve the usability of the battery by combining it with contactless charging technology, etc.

The new battery is scheduled for display at the International Nanotechnology Exhibition and Conference (nano tech 2009), which runs from Feb 18 to 20, 2009, at Tokyo Big Sight.

Motolora Sparrow

Motorola Sparrow was conceived to provide retail stores with a mobile point of sale device to solve increased service demands from consumers while decentralizing the check out point, i.e.

pay for it and get out as fast as you can. It combines a scanner, point of sale (POS) system, RFID, communication and credit card reading capabilities into one mobile device.

There are a few devices that offer MPOS (mobile point of sale) in the marketplace but none are consumer facing nor appropriate for front-end retail environments. Existing products are often rugged and obtrusive.

If you’ve ever been to an Apple store, you know what I’m talking about. They often take away from the environment and make the entire retail experience unpleasant.

Both the front and back of the Sparrow are equipped with touch sensitive areas, supposedly making it easier to navigate and use. The entire unit can hang from a lanyard.

This isn’t a new idea but definitely a huge improvement. Many high-tech electronic stores now equip their employees with mobile point of sale devices but design studio Aruliden definitely has an eye for form and function. I’d love to see it integrated into retail environments.
